Frequently Asked Questions
What is House-Call Pet Grooming?

House call pet grooming is when a pet groomer comes to your location and sets up service in home. House call groomers strive to create a calm, stress free and customized experience for owner and pet.
What does the owner provide?

Access to a tub, utility sink or kitchen sink for bathing pet. A quiet place to set up grooming table and cart. Usually this area can be in the same area of bathing but can also be in another room. Groomer will discuss set up at first appointment.
What if I don’t have enough room?

Grooming does not require a large area, usually no bigger than a 6ft by 6ft area is required.
Can I watch?

Of course! A lot of clients like to watch, especially the first time. The Devoted Paw encourages owners to ask questions and see what is really involved in grooming a pet. The only thing we ask is if you stay, please be respectful of the grooming process, space and tools.
How much does this service cost?

There is a twenty-dollar house call service fee plus the cost of the groom. Grooming is difficult to quote due to Breed, size, difficulty, length of hair, grooming schedule, etc. The Devoted Paw has a free phone consultation that will go over any questions and can give you an estimate of time and cost of service.
What is included in the groom?

Grooming service include a bath with premium shampoos and conditioners that will be customized based on your pets needs. A breed or Customized haircut. Nail trim with file and ear cleaning. Accessories are included as well to top their freshly styled coat. (Bows, Bandanas, Bowties, Ties)
Do you groom cats?

Yes! House call has been shown to be one of the best options to have your cat groomed due to the decreased stress level of being in foreign environment. The Devoted Paw has extensive training in feline safety and uses feline safe products.
I have a dog that has been kicked out of a salon due to behavior and aggression. Should house call pet grooming be something I should consider?
Dogs that have had issues in the past with the grooming experience have been shown to do better when a groomer can take the time to address the root problem. Before opening the devoted paw, I was trained as a groomer at a large animal hospital. For 5 years I received extensive training in developing a grooming style that gained the trust of many animals that before had not been able to enjoy the grooming process. Grooming is not the favorite activity of every animal, but I strive to listen, care for and understand each animal’s needs. I want to gain your dog’s trust, and I want to help you.
